"Robért" trademark was used by The Fashioncraft Jewelry Company of New York (1942 - 1979), Robert Levey was partner and chief designer. The company's pieces are quite similar in design to Miriam Haskell jewelry, the base is usually elaborate gilded filigree set and wired with Austrian crystal beads, glass, and faux pearls. The company had an ongoing relationship with the film industry, supplying jewelry to the costume departments. Robért pieces are often quite elaborate, always well-made and avidly sought by collectors.

HERE'S A VERY RARE EARLY BOUTIQUE ITEM FROM ROBERT LEVY OF FASHIONCRAFT NEW YORK, N.Y..
AN ADORABLE WHITE POODLE WITH SPAGHETTI STRANDS FOR ARMS AND LEGS, TOPPED WITH AUSTRALIAN GLASS CRYSTALS HERE AND THERE.  SHE HAS A RUSSIAN GOLD GILT TAIL ADORNED WITH AUSTRALIAN CRYSTALS AND A FAUX PEARL ON TOP SURROUNDED BY GOLD GILT.  HER BONNET IS ALSO RUSSIAN GOLD GILT FILIGREE WITH A ROSE MONTEE PEARL FLOWER ON TOP HIGHLIGHTED WITH SURROUNDING AUSTRALIAN CRYSTALS.
SHE STANDS ON TOP OF AN ATTACHED LEAF SHAPED HAND PAINTED ASH TRAY.
SHE MEASURES 4 1/2 " WIDE.  STANDS ABOUT 3 1/4" INCHES TALL.
SHE'S A BEAUT!  ALTHOUGH IT IS AN ASHTRAY...IT DOESN'T SMELL.  DON'T THINK IT WAS USED FOR THAT.  PROBABLY WAS JUST SAT ON THE BEDROOM DRESSER OR SIDE TABLE.
SIGNED ON THE BOTTOM ON THE CLASSIC PAINTERS PALETTE GOLD STICKER " FABULOUS BOUTIQUE ORIGINALS BY ROBERT ".  ALSO NUMBERED 3418...WHICH IS UNUSUAL.
